In recent weeks there has been a lack of support for the Key Draw and it continues to lose money. This loss cannot be sustained and the committee has considered withdrawing this facility.
However it has been recognised that some members enjoy the Key Draw and in an effort to retain it and to make it cost effective it has been decided that for a trial period the format will be changed.
When the current draw has been won, the new format will be introduced and tickets will be sold during the week as is the case with raffle tickets. If the winner is not in the club on Saturday night when the draw is made Steve or Katherine will try and open the box on their behalf.
The current arrangement where the unlucky loser recieves £10 will be withdrawn and instead a bonus of £10 will be paid if the loser is actually in the club at the time of the draw. If not the £10 will roll over to the following week.
The committee realise this method will not be popular with all members but the current trend cannot be allowed to contine.
